We begin by shaping the blade for strength, edge retention and precision. The high carbon steel we use is either .020 or .038 depending on usage. After the blade is perfected, the real personality of the knife starts in the handle.
Each handle is made from premium hardwood, domestic or import. We shape, sand and contour every handle so it sits naturally in your hand. I start every handle with one inch thick wood because I have large hands and the thinner knives were uncomfortable for me. I use either an oil finish or spar varnish for my knives. Our goal is simple: create knives that are comfortable and feel like they were made for you.
